Check out our spin on a kitchen renovation inside the Merlot model at The Cascades 55+ Community of Saint Lucie West. Our retired, but very active, community members were ready for an update to their kitchen but didn’t want the same as everyone else. Our couple host many dinners, game nights and parties throughout the year so more countertop cook space and buffet were important. Plus, they love real wood colors and a traditional vibe.
We started by removing the drywall pantry and moving the corner refrigerator. This was huge, as in, it took up so much space in that corner! By simply moving it over to the other side and replacing the unused desk area, we maintained a better cooking triangle and added a long, open countertop area. The bar top was also removed for both aesthetic and better function for entertaining. Overall, our client’s are thrilled with their new kitchen design! We look forward to many more Merlot remodels in the area soon.
